Evidence & current status
Reviewed 21 September 2026. Original manufacturer publication date takes precedence over 10 September republications. No delivery completion, named operator or verified technical equivalence to another HAVELSAN model is asserted. The Egyptian publication supports qualitative roles only; its extracted adjacent numerical text is not used.
HAMZA-1 is a surveillance aircraft programme linking HAVELSAN's autonomous-systems engineering with the Arab Organization for Industrialization's manufacturing capability in Egypt. The partners' August 2025 cooperation covered local production of autonomous vertical take-off and landing aircraft, and the first HAMZA-1 system was subsequently shown at EDEX in December 2025.
HAVELSAN's own announcement, dated 9 September 2026, reports a sales agreement at El Alamein International Airshow. It says deliveries are expected subsequently; it does not identify a completed military handover, fleet quantity or operational unit. The status here reflects this commercial and production commitment.
An Egyptian Armed Forces publication identifies border/coastal observation and search-and-rescue roles. The name should not be used as a shortcut for importing another HAVELSAN aircraft's performance table. The announcement does not establish a one-to-one configuration equivalence with BAHA or another parent platform. A programme-specific sheet is still needed for mass, endurance, range and payload. HAMZA-2 and HAMZA-3 are also not automatically variants of this aircraft merely because they share a name prefix. Those relationships need separate manufacturer evidence.
