Evidence & current status
Public sources establish the programme; unspecified capabilities, configurations and inventories are not inferred.
Corvo PPDS is SYPAQ’s Precision Payload Delivery System, a small uncrewed aircraft originally developed for distributing supplies and equipment. The manufacturer describes an Australian design and production effort supported by the Australian Army and a Defence Innovation Hub contract. The aircraft is commonly called a cardboard drone, but that informal name should not obscure its original logistics purpose.
In March 2023, SYPAQ confirmed deliveries for Ukraine’s armed forces under Australian defence support. The release also described adaptation for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance following user feedback. These are supported programme facts; separate claims about individual combat incidents are not needed to establish the aircraft’s presence or general roles.
The release advertises flights up to 120 kilometres. It does not give enough configuration detail to turn that figure into a guaranteed mission radius with a particular payload. The broader Corvo portfolio now includes other products and a heavy-lift PPDS derivative, whose performance should be kept distinct. This profile records the baseline PPDS and its documented supply history, leaving payload-specific performance and fleet totals unresolved.
