Evidence & current status

Primary company statement supports development. It does not confirm an operational aircraft or resolve conflicting secondary engine descriptions.

CATS Warrior is the aircraft component of HAL's Combat Air Teaming System work. It is intended to collaborate with crewed aircraft, making it a different programme from the small surveillance drones and hand-launched systems also developed in India. HAL's May 2025 management discussion placed the aircraft in research and development, describing a roughly three-tonne class and work on prototypes, engines and data links.

That statement is useful because it comes from the programme company rather than an exhibition caption or a forecast by a commentator. It supports a development classification, but does not establish operational deployment, production acceptance or a completed flight-test campaign. The mass description is a broad aircraft class rather than a certified take-off limit.

Published renderings and ground-test reporting should likewise be kept separate from a final production configuration. This profile leaves range, endurance, payload and propulsion configuration unquantified until a dated technical baseline is available. Other elements using the CATS name are not counted as additional Warrior aircraft.
