The Iver4 900 is the larger of two Iver4 configurations covered here. Its modular body accommodates navigation, energy and survey equipment, allowing the delivered vehicle to differ substantially from a bare platform description. It is an untethered autonomous vehicle; acoustic communication or a surfaced radio connection does not make it a continuously piloted ROV.
L3Harris distinguishes rechargeable nickel-metal-hydride and lithium-ion energy configurations. Published endurance and distance figures therefore need to retain their battery qualification. The standard product depth rating also should not be read as the operating limit of every installed payload. Survey sonar and environmental instruments are configuration choices, rather than evidence that every customer has the same sensor suite.
In March 2026, L3Harris announced a Defense Innovation Unit contract for a submarine torpedo-tube launch and recovery capability using Iver4 900 vehicles. This is specific procurement evidence for that programme, but it does not establish fleet-wide acceptance or the performance of a completed operational installation. The smaller Iver4 580 is recorded separately because its diameter, mass and energy capacity differ.
