Evidence & current status
Historical flown technology demonstrator. The Development / trials grouping describes programme type, not an assertion that trials continue today.
Taranis is a British technology demonstrator led by BAE Systems with industrial and Ministry of Defence partners. The programme explored low-observable aircraft, integration, control infrastructure and autonomy under human oversight. BAE records its public unveiling in July 2010, ground work and subsequent successful flight trials.
This is a demonstrator profile, not an operational fleet entry. The continuing availability or updating of a corporate page does not establish that the aircraft is currently conducting trials. Nor does the presence of unrelated current combat-air news beside the page prove that Taranis became a named production successor.
The programme matters as a record of technology development and industrial collaboration. Most numerical flight-performance fields remain undisclosed in the reviewed primary overview. Values commonly repeated elsewhere are not substituted for missing manufacturer data. Any claimed relationship to a later aircraft should be supported by an explicit programme statement before being added.
