Evidence & current status
Procurement, trials and service are distinguished; family figures are not transferable between variants.
CUSV is the Common Unmanned Surface Vehicle from which the US Navy's MCM USV configuration developed. It carries interchangeable mine-countermeasure equipment within a wider system of host ships, sensors and support facilities. The Navy's July 2025 mission-package account identifies the craft as a component of its deployed Littoral Combat Ship mine-countermeasure capability.
Textron's current product page separates the MCM craft from the newer multi-mission configuration. This matters because gross weight, payload, fuel capacity, range and sea-state ratings differ. The values below are taken from the specifically labelled MCM USV table. Loiter endurance is also a different measure from endurance at towing or transit speed.
CUSV provides an example of an uncrewed vehicle progressing from development into a supported naval programme. Subsequent sensor or payload trials still have their own qualification timelines and should not be assumed to be included in every deployed craft. The fifth-generation MMUSV has a separate entry so its larger capacity and development contract do not silently alter the historical or current MCM specification.
