Evidence & current status
Procurement, trials and service are distinguished; family figures are not transferable between variants.
TSUNAMI combines commercial boat production with Textron's autonomy and integration experience. The product range includes complete vessels and separate conversion kits; a kit is not itself a completed naval boat. Current vessel variants span several sizes, allowing different balances of payload, handling and range.
Textron announced an April 2026 Defense Innovation Unit award to produce and deliver several craft for US Navy Fourth Fleet and SOUTHCOM experimentation and associated operations. Earlier sales to naval research organisations are also recorded in the manufacturer's news register. These milestones support procurement status, while payload demonstrations and the completed delivery of each contracted boat remain distinct questions.
The specification rows use the named TSUNAMI 21 baseline from the current product table. Larger TSUNAMI 25, 33, 38 and 42 vessels are listed as variants, without giving them the small boat's dimensions or range. Published brochure and web-table payload terminology differs in places, so exact delivered weight allowance requires a customer configuration sheet. The relationship to CUSV concerns autonomy heritage; it does not make TSUNAMI the same hull or mission package.
