Watchkeeper is a British-built tactical reconnaissance UAV associated with Thales and U-TacS. The Army's equipment page describes an aircraft operated by the Royal Artillery and supported by REME, with a configurable intelligence payload. It records operational use in Afghanistan and a programme history extending back to its first flight in 2010.
Its presence in an equipment directory must be read alongside later policy statements. A ministerial answer published by the UK Parliament in October 2025 states that Watchkeeper Mk1 was being retired, with an out-of-service date of March 2027. Earlier reporting gave other dates. The dated parliamentary answer is used here rather than treating a still-live promotional page as proof that service will continue indefinitely.
