Evidence & current status
Current page establishes SP2/CXT2/XT2 identities and revised CXT2/XT2 payload/range. Older brochure dimensions and mass are historical configuration values. The September 2026 US order names SP; it is not automatically renamed SP2. Marine-kit load and endurance remain unspecified.
Mission Master is Rheinmetall Canada's family of uncrewed ground platforms. Its SP, CXT and XT versions have different powertrains and mobility characteristics, despite sharing a mission-module approach and Rheinmetall's PATH autonomy architecture. Cargo, observation, medical-support and armed configurations should therefore be compared at the vehicle-and-payload level, not treated as interchangeable versions of one specification sheet.
The SP has been bought for military experimentation, including a Japanese contract announced in April 2024. Rheinmetall announced a further US Marine Corps order on 10 September 2026 for twelve SP vehicles and five amphibious kits. The stated purpose includes continued evaluation and capability development, so the contract is not evidence of broad operational acceptance.
The published family brochure distinguishes land and amphibious payload limits. It also gives distance figures under an endurance heading; this catalogue records those as travel range rather than hours. The current product page now identifies SP2, CXT2 and XT2. Its CXT2 and XT2 travel and payload figures are recorded separately from older brochure dimensions and mass. Full SP2 and marine-kit specifications still require a dated configuration sheet. Demonstrated vehicle autonomy and optional remotely controlled mission equipment remain separate functions, with operator supervision dependent on the actual customer configuration.
