This audit covers the original research register for Africa defence drone coverage audit. The review below records work completed on 21 September 2026. Resolved means the named research task was addressed, not that every national programme or undisclosed capability is catalogued. Partially resolved topics now have published evidence but retain a narrower question.
South Africa — Partially resolved
Seeker 200 / Hungwe / Other South African small VTOL and reconnaissance aircraft. Added historical Seeker 200 and Hungwe profiles with source-date limitations, and ALTI Transition with manufacturer configuration and security-operator procurement evidence. Denel's Hungwe catalogue contains contradictory wingspans, which remain unresolved rather than selecting one.
Nigeria — Partially resolved
Other NAF indigenous research and development aircraft / Current upgrades and production quantities. Updated Tsaigumi after finding conflicting primary accounts of operationalisation. Checked the November 2024 NAF R&D retreat and July 2025 Ethiopia cooperation announcement: these support continuing projects and proposed collaboration, not a named newly delivered indigenous fleet.

Current Denel fleet/configurations and remaining South African small VTOL families
Obtain current Seeker 200 delivery/operator and Hungwe acceptance evidence rather than re-dating old catalogues. Resolve Hungwe's 3 m/4 m wingspan inconsistency and current ALTI production sheets, including Ascend and other models. Additional small aircraft and operator-specific VTOL configurations remain to be researched; the original manufacturer site was inaccessible in this review.

Tsaigumi status reconciliation, Gulma/Amebo records and newer Nigerian projects
Obtain a current NAF acceptance/readiness and production statement resolving the 2018 induction versus 2024 operationalisation account. Recover original Gulma/Amebo configuration and trial records; the historical seminar account confirms names but provides insufficient model-specific data. Identify a resulting aircraft and contract before turning proposed Nigerian–Ethiopian co-development into a profile. Unverified Ichoku and other reported projects remain leads.
