Scope and evidence
This audit covers the original research register for Latin America defence drone coverage audit. The review below records work completed on 21 September 2026. Resolved means the named research task was addressed, not that every national programme or undisclosed capability is catalogued. Partially resolved topics now have published evidence but retain a narrower question.
Brazil — Partially resolved
Other military Nauru configurations / FT rotary-wing aircraft / Other domestically developed military systems. Added Nauru 100D, Nauru 500C ISR and FT-200 FH, distinguishing observation use from later armed or maritime developments.
Argentina — Partially resolved
Lipán XM4 / P35 / Carancho. Added P35 and RUAS-160. The defence white paper establishes naval development of RUAS rather than relying on its civil exhibition.
Colombia — Partially resolved
Coelum / Dragom / Current acceptance and operator configurations. Added Coelum and Dragom. Corporate reports support Coelum military sales and a separate VTOL development; Dragom has a documented flight presentation.
Chile — Open
Specific aircraft emerging from ENAER / DTS / Turkish Aerospace cooperation. Read ENAER's full May 2026 release: it describes a non-binding memorandum signed on 8 April to explore proposals based on ANKA or AKSUNGUR, not a new Chilean aircraft or purchase.
Open research register
These are editorial research tasks, not confirmed capabilities. Remove or revise each row when the evidence has been published.
Brazil · Air · High priority
Brazilian derivative acceptance and additional defence-product suppliers
Verify Nauru armed/swarm and offshore configurations, current FT-200 military recipients, and additional named domestic aircraft in the national defence-products catalogue. Supplier demonstrations and production capacity do not establish fleet delivery.
Argentina · Air · High priority
Lipan XM4, Carancho and Argentine Air Force programmes
The embassy overview identifies XM4 as development and Carancho as a separate compact aircraft; obtain fuller primary technical and current-use records. Research Air Force programmes and resolve RUAS naval acceptance and later configuration changes.
Colombia · Air · High priority
Colombian accepted configurations and Quimbaya design lineage
Confirm delivery/acceptance of the sold Coelum systems, distinguish its VTOL derivative, and obtain Dragom's current technical sheet. CIAC's 2019 report describes Quimbaya review by a manufacturer in Germany; identify that relationship before making a wholly indigenous-design claim.
Chile · Air · Medium priority
ENAER / DTS cooperation: named proposal or contract
Track any resulting model-specific proposal, development contract, local manufacturing work and customer acceptance. Keep the memorandum separate from aircraft production and do not create a Chilean-origin ANKA/AKSUNGUR entry solely from this agreement.
