Baykar reported on 4 November that a Bayraktar TB2 flew from its Keşan test centre in Türkiye carrying 16 Skydagger first-person-view attack drones. At the test area it released two of them. Baykar says operators then controlled the smaller aircraft through a communications link via the TB2 and that both struck designated targets. Anadolu Agency reported the same event, attributing the results to Baykar. The company did not state the precise flight date.
Carrier and communications roles
The TB2 acted as both an airborne carrier and a relay for the released drones. A carrier aircraft can move small drones closer to a mission area, while an elevated relay can extend the control path beyond what a ground operator could otherwise maintain. This test addresses the basic integration chain: lift the loaded aircraft, release the smaller vehicles, maintain control through the carrier and engage targets. It does not establish that all 16 carried drones can be released or directed simultaneously.
What remains unproven publicly
Baykar did not publish the release altitude, separation distance, control-link range, target details, unedited telemetry or repeated-trial results. Its stated target hits are supplier-reported; an independent military test record was not released. No service qualification, procurement decision or operational deployment of this TB2-Skydagger configuration was announced. Later multi-drone releases and operator reports would show whether the approach scales beyond this two-drone flight test.
