Indian manufacturer BonV Aero says it has supplied 45 unmanned aircraft to the Indian Army's Eastern Command for logistics and other mission-specific payloads. Its 28 September announcement, carried by Indian defence and business publications, identifies the command and quantity but does not give a delivery schedule, contract value or aircraft model.
BonV describes the systems as a way to move supplies where rivers, steep terrain and weather make surface transport difficult. The company also says it has previously conducted Army trials at several locations and trained more than 150 personnel in Northern Command. Those statements provide context, not independent evidence that the newly reported 45 aircraft are in routine field service.
What remains unclear
This is a supplier-reported supply milestone. No corresponding Eastern Command acceptance notice was found in this review. The public statement does not identify how many aircraft are operational, where they are based or their configuration-specific payload and endurance. The separate Ministry of Defence logistics-drone tender mentioned in coverage should not be treated as the contract for these 45 aircraft without a procurement record linking them.
The case is worth tracking because logistical utility depends on repeatable operations, trained crews and maintenance as much as on a single payload demonstration. Army confirmation and evidence of sustained missions would clarify the programme's status.
