Uncrewed aircraft sales

Draganfly reports first US defence Heavy Lift sales and Commander follow-on orders

Draganfly says an existing US defence customer bought Heavy Lift aircraft for the first time and made follow-on Commander 3XL purchases. It did not identify the customer, quantities, contract values, delivery dates or acceptance results.

Canadian manufacturer Draganfly announced on 27 October that it had secured inaugural US defence sales of its Heavy Lift uncrewed aircraft and separate follow-on purchases of Commander 3XL systems. The company says the buyer is an existing US defence customer that already uses its Flex aircraft, and describes the purchases as involving multiple light infantry divisions. The release does not name the customer or give quantities, prices, contract identifiers or delivery dates.

Two distinct procurement signals

The Heavy Lift order marks the company's first reported sale of that higher-payload platform into the US defence market. Draganfly associates it with adaptable payload and transport roles, but the announcement does not identify the purchased payload configuration or a demonstrated military mission. The Commander 3XL follow-on purchases extend an existing customer relationship that the company links to intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance work. Those statements describe intended or existing uses at a high level; they do not establish that the newly ordered aircraft have been delivered or accepted.

What remains to verify

A buyer notice or later supplier update could clarify fleet size, operating unit, delivered configuration and service status. Until then, the strongest supported conclusion is a manufacturer-reported sale. The site's Commander 3XL profile and logistics sector guide provide context for the aircraft classes without converting supplier marketing specifications into observed military performance.
