Multi-domain autonomy exercise

Quantum Systems reports air, land and sea integration at Forward Edge 26

Quantum Systems says its two-week German exercise linked aerial, ground, maritime and counter-drone systems through MOSAIC UXS. The four scenarios demonstrate a supplier-led integration exercise, with no published independent performance measures or service acceptance.

Quantum Systems announced on 22 October that it had completed the two-week Forward Edge 26 exercise at a military training field in central Germany. The company says its MOSAIC UXS software connected its own and partners' unmanned systems across air, land and sea. This is a reported exercise outcome, not evidence that a military has procured or accepted the entire architecture.

What the exercise covered

In the first scenario, aerial surveillance identified simulated threats to a defensive position, followed by counter-UAS, strike and ground-system responses. A second scenario combined route reconnaissance, an unmanned convoy and laser-based counter-UAS protection. A coastal and port-protection scenario connected aerial and maritime systems for surveillance and response. The fourth paired aerial overwatch and ground systems in a minelaying and route-clearance demonstration. Quantum Systems also says operators remotely piloted systems located in Ukraine, the United States and Australia.

The company names Daimler Truck, Frontline Robotics, Ground A, Planet, Wolf Radar, Reactive Dynamics, Tencore, Volkswagen, XTEND and its German-Ukrainian joint ventures among the partners. The announcement does not identify every platform in each scenario or establish that all partner products were integrated to the same level.

What the evidence shows

The release describes successful coordination but gives no measured latency, number of simultaneous vehicles, resilience under jamming, counter-drone interception rates or assessment by an independent military customer. Its references to Ukraine describe exercise examples and remote piloting; they do not establish operational use of this combined architecture in combat. The next useful evidence would be a named user evaluation, repeatable cross-vendor test results and details of which air, ground and maritime configurations were qualified. The site's maritime-autonomy and sensor-fusion guides explain why connecting platforms and proving resilient operations are separate steps.
