How to understand it
A camera, thermal imager, radar and radio-frequency sensor each describe a different part of the environment. Combining those observations can provide a more useful picture than presenting separate feeds. Doing so requires attention to timing, interpretation and uncertainty, especially when observations disagree.
What to look for in the evidence
- Distinguish carrying multiple sensors from integrating their outputs.
- Look for evidence about data quality, interpretation and operator workload.
- Read maritime, land and counter-drone demonstrations in their own contexts.
THE CAPABILITY QUESTION
The capability is actionable awareness. Counting sensors is an incomplete way to assess it.
